Doncaster closed the gap on Dewsbury, as the Dons defeated Workington Town 46-6.

Richard Horne’s side were looking to keep their 100% record in 2023 and they got off to a perfect start thanks to a Elliot Hall try inside the first five minutes.

Sam Smeaton and Loui McConnell added scores to put Doncaster into a strong 18-0 lead inside the opening quarter.

Ciaran Walker struck back for Town, however, that was as good as it got as Doncaster scored 28 unanswered points.

Jack Sanderson added a try before half-time, meanwhile a Jason Tali double was followed by tries from Ben Johnston and Loui McConnell.

Elsewhere, Oldham beat Cornwall.

Stuart Littler’s side dominated much of the contest as they raced into a 36-0 lead inside of an hour.

Patrick Ah Van went beyond the 150 career tries mark as the winger completed a hat-trick.

Harry Aaronson and a Cameron Brown brace was a consolation for Cornwall, who came out on the wrong side of the 36-16 scoreline.

Midlands Hurricanes moved up to sixth in the table, after they defeated London Skolars.

Hayden Freeman scored a hat-trick en route to a second win of the season for the Hurricanes.

The final game of the round saw a hat-trick on debut for Umyla Hanley as Rochdale Hornets defeated North Wales Crusaders 32-18.

The success was a second of the season for the Hornets, meanwhile, Crusaders are still searching for their first of the 2023 Betfred League One season.
